Google Chicago Hackathon for A4MC
Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (CDT)
Google Chicago and the Apps 4 Metro Chicago Illinois Team invite YOU to attend a hackathon centered around the Apps for Metro Chicago competition. Spend the day working on entries for A4MC's Community and Grand Challenge Rounds.
We’re looking for engineers and developers in the Chicago area to come together to build some amazing apps in one day. We want to see what what kind of cool things we can do with the city’s open datasets (from visualizations to mashups to analysis to whatever you can think of). And remember- apps that benefit Chicago residents and work with community organizations have a much better chance of doing well in the competition.
Apps for Metro Chicago Illinois represents one of the largest governmental collaborative open data initiatives to date. Multiple governmental agencies and regional planning organizations have collaborated to provide 200 plus data sets with more being added regularly! A4MC is endeavoring to foster relationships between civic organizations and apps developers in order to create apps that benefit the residents of Chicago.
